Mills & Reeve hires healthcare M&A specialist to boost national practice

Dan Braithwaite has joined Mills & Reeve as a principal associate from Pinsent Masons to support the firm’s fast growing health and social care mergers & acquisitions practice.

Having been a key part of Pinsent Mason’s healthcare offering for more than 11 years, and with four years’ experience working in the inhouse legal teams of Craegmoor and the Priory Group before that, Dan brings a wealth of sector experience to his new role at Mills & Reeve. He will work closely with health & care M&A lead partner Julian Smith, Natalie Wade and Paul Krivosic on the team’s work with clients embarking on major corporate projects, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and shareholder collaborations in the health & care sector.

Through his career to date, Dan has been involved in a vast portfolio of transactions involving major providers of adult residential care, children’s care and education, fostering services, learning disability services, social housing, mental health, fertility services and life sciences. Due to his experience working within (as well as for) healthcare organisations, Dan has excellent insight into the practical and commercial issues that health and social care providers face, which his clients really appreciate.

Julian Smith, partner at Mills & Reeve, said: “Dan is a great addition to our team and brings exceptional sector and deal know-how to our healthcare mergers & acquisitions practice. Our clients will benefit greatly from this recruitment, and we look forward to working closely with Dan on a range of future projects”.

Dan said: “I’m excited to have joined the firm and to be working with the fantastic and passionate health and social care experts that the team at Mills & Reeve boast, the breadth and depth of health and social care expertise in this firm is really impressive and hopefully I can contribute to the growth and success of this great national practice.”
