ESG reporting is now firmly a Board-level issue, with increasing expectations around transparency, accountability and oversight. For in-house lawyers, this creates an important intersection between reporting, governance, risk and strategic decision-making.

In this session, Nicole will share insights on the evolving ESG reporting landscape and the role legal teams can play in supporting effective Board decision-making.

The session will explore:

  • What Boards need from ESG reporting and oversight.

  • The legal, governance and risk considerations that underpin ESG reporting.

  • Board and director responsibilities in an evolving regulatory environment.

  • Practical approaches to ensuring the right information reaches the Board at the right time.

  • The challenges of translating complex ESG matters into meaningful Board-level reporting.

The format will include 30 minutes of remarks and discussion led by Nicole, followed by 30 minutes of audience discussion and Q&A, providing an opportunity to share experiences, perspectives and practical insights with fellow in-house lawyers.
