Join us for the next meeting of the Birmingham Law Society COLP/COFA Forum for a
CHRISTMAS REGULATORY ROUND UP.
Chaired by Jayne Willetts, Solicitor Advocate and BLS Professional Regulation Committee Member.
Fortunately, most of the profession is not familiar with the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal but it is where the major decisions on professional misconduct are made. Jayne will provide insight into the workings of the SDT and will include an update on the significant judgments during 2026. She will also share experiences from her long and distinguished career working in professional regulation.

Jayne will be joined by Alison Matthews, AML specialist, of Alison Matthews Consulting Ltd, to provide an update on the move to FCA supervision – “What more do we know?”

In addition, Rebecca Atkinson, Solicitor/Risk & Compliance specialist of McArthur Atkinson will provide an update on recent regulatory developments.
The sessions will be run under the Chatham House Rule, so questions and frank discussion are encouraged.
Open to those serving as COLP; COFA; MLRO; MLCO; and those working in risk and compliance teams and/or senior management.
Very kindly hosted by Gowling WLG. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
Watch this space for future sessions in 2027!
