BLS responds to Ministry of Justice consultation on the Criminal Legal Aid Review

The Birmingham Law Society Criminal Law Committee has responded to the Ministry of Justice consultation on accelerated areas of criminal legal aid review.

The Committee’s chair, Matt O’Brien, comments: “The Committee welcomes this long-overdue review of criminal legal aid fees. However, the MoJ’s proposals do not go far enough, and we urge them to build upon them further to ensure a sustainable future for the practice of criminal law.”
