From January 2026, changes introduced by the Department for Education mean that the Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship and the 31-month Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship are no longer government funded for learners aged 22 and over. As a result, many firms and aspiring solicitors are now reviewing alternative funded pathways that still provide structured progression within the legal profession.
