3PB Growth in Birmingham

The Birmingham office of 3PB Barristers (3 Paper Buildings) continues to go from strength to strength and is by some margin, the fastest growing chambers in Birmingham; even despite the challenging conditions presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since 3PB opened in Birmingham in 2016, talented barristers across all areas of law have swelled their ranks to its  current complement of  30 counsel based in the City . Over the last 18 months alone, some nine new barristers have chosen 3PB as their professional home with new recruits including former solicitors and those from in-house public sector roles.

The Colmore Building-based chambers also acts as the Midlands ‘home’ for many of 3PB’s 200 other barristers who are based at the other 3PB offices in London, Bristol, Bournemouth, Oxford and Winchester.

Elizabeth McGrath QC and Vanessa Meachin QC, family – Silks and founder members of 3PB’s Birmingham office, said: “We are delighted to see 116 of our barristers ranked in Legal 500 this year and in particular to see 17 ranked for the first time. This shows great strength-in-depth across our chambers and that mix of expertise is reflected in the barristers who are based full-time in Birmingham. It has been especially pleasing to be able to welcome new colleagues despite the challenges presented by Covid-19”.

In November, 3PB welcomed new senior civil clerk Sam Collins to the Birmingham team as practice director. Sam was eight years at one of Birmingham’s largest chambers and worked for the last five years as a Team Leader in a top-ranked London chambers. Sam will have a particular emphasis on developing Commercial, Construction, Employment and Property & Estates work within Birmingham and surrounding areas. Described by Legal 500 as “responsive and easy to work with” and “extremely helpful”, Sam has been exceptionally busy since starting with 3PB.

3PB is committed to supporting the local charity, The Birmingham Children’s Trust. In recent years barristers and staff in Birmingham have joined together at Christmas to grant Christmas Wishes for children in care with Birmingham Children’s Trust.

Christmas can be a difficult time of year for a lot of children and young people in the UK’s second city, so the Christmas Wishes initiative brings some festive magic to children and young people in the care of the Trust. Last year the 3PB team bought gifts for 18 children and young people at two residential homes in Birmingham. Birmingham Children’s Trust exists to make a positive difference for children, young people and families.

We wish you and yours all the joys of the season and the very best for 2022. For all our clients and friends, 3PB  hugely appreciates your support and your business over what has continued to be an unusual and challenging year.
