National Law Society: Notice of Council elections/ vacancies

Preliminary notice is given that elections of members of the Council will take place for the constituencies and special interest seats that fall vacant on the expiry of the terms of office of the current Council members at the Society’s annual general meeting on 12th October 2022.

All successful candidates will take office at the AGM’s conclusion for a term of 4 years (unless stated otherwise). There are numerous special interest seats to be filled, which include:

  • Criminal Defence
  • Criminal Prosecution Services (casual vacancy)
  • Employment
  • Ethnic Minorities (2 vacancies, 1 vacancy must be filled by a Black Solicitors’ Network member)
  • Family
  • In-house corporate
  • Legal Aid
  • LGBT+
  • Major Corporate
  • Private Client
  • Women Lawyers

 

There are also various geographical seats to be filled which may be of interest, including:

  • Manchester
  • Norfolk
  • North East
  • Sussex
  • Yorkshire and Humberside
