Joining the judiciary is a great opportunity for solicitors who want to take their career in a new and challenging direction. We’re passionate about encouraging greater diversity in judiciary applications, and this event is designed to help more people access this career path.

This session will help you understand the journey to becoming a judge and what your daily working life might look like. From our panel of solicitor judges, you’ll learn more about the skills and experiences you’ll need and tips for a successful application. And you'll hear about the barriers they faced and how they overcame them.

We’ll also explore the support available to you from the Law Society, the Judicial Office and the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).

You’ll get to meet fellow solicitors considering this career move, people who have started the process, and working judges. This event is an opportunity to start building a network of likeminded colleagues in the Birmingham area.
