Join us for the next meeting of the Birmingham Law Society COLP/COFA Forum for a
AUTUMN REGULATORY ROUND UP.
Chaired by Jayne Willetts, Solicitor Advocate and BLS Professional Regulation Committee Member.
With the SRA’s ever increasing interest in partner and fee earner behaviour, Jayne will focus on Internal Law Firm Investigations – when to choose external or internal investigators/when and how to report to the SRA/evidence gathering/thinking ahead/internal records/confidentiality and privilege.

With guest speaker James Frost, Vice President, Solicitors Professional Indemnity, of global insurance broker, Marsh.
James will provide an overview of the current professional indemnity insurance market ahead of autumn renewals and discuss some examples of what will and will not affect renewal with the focus on regulatory problems.

Joined by Alison Matthews, AML specialist, of Alison Matthews Ltd, to address the pressing topic of the move to FCA supervision – “What we know so far (and what we don't know)."

And Rebecca Atkinson, Solicitor/Risk & Compliance specialist of McArthur Atkinson who will provide an update on recent regulatory developments including the Carter Ruck hearing and AML developments including the Osmond tipping off judgment.
The sessions will be run under the Chatham House Rule, so questions and frank discussion are encouraged.
Open to those serving as COLP; COFA; MLRO; MLCO; and those working in risk and compliance teams and/or senior management.
Very kindly hosted by Anthony Collins Solicitors. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
Save the date for the final COLP/COFA Forum in 2026: Tuesday 8 December!
