The BLS Big Debate was held on 11 December 2020. The debate was chaired by Inez Brown (President, Birmingham Law Society) who was be joined by panellists Geoffrey Cox QC MP, Nick Green (Managing Partner, Squire Patton Boggs), Tony McDaid (CEO No5 Chambers), Joe Wilson (Chambers Director, St Philips Chambers), Greg Lowson (Head of Birmingham Office, Pinsent Masons) and Lisa Jordan (Managing Partner, Irwin Mitchell).
The format of the debate was a 45 minute session consisting of questions asked by the Chair on Covid, the rule of law, and Priti Patel’s comments surrounding ‘lefty lawyers’, followed by (pre-recorded) questions from the audience in the last 15 minutes of the debate.
