Sydney Mitchell’s litigation team is renowned for fighting its clients’ corner and always try to get the best result for its clients. The dispute resolution team achieve this by understanding their client, their client’s business and how the dispute arose. However, they also look at the dispute in a more objective way, as often there isn’t a “bad guy” on the other side; it is just a matter of perspective. As such the key is to understand the other party’s rationale behind their position, why they feel so strongly in that position and what outcome would work for both parties. By understanding the motivations driving the other party it would allow the identification of common ground, which in turn would result in the dispute being resolved sooner than would otherwise be the case; ultimately saving the client time and money.
Whilst Sydney Mitchell believes its Commercial Litigation team provide an excellent first class service to its clients, it is always rewarding to receive external recognition that this is the case. At the Birmingham Law Society Awards the litigation team was short-listed in the Excellence in Client Service for Business Clients (in two separate years); and yet again the team has received some fantastic feedback from their clients where they are acknowledged as “punching well above our weight”.
