Birmingham Law Society Announces Officer Elections for 2026–2027

Birmingham Law Society is pleased to announce the outcome of the elections held at its Council Meeting on Wednesday 22 July 2026, at which Council elected its Officers for the forthcoming 2026–2027 presidential year.

Subject to their formal appointment at the Society’s Annual General Meeting, the following have been elected:

  • Guy BarnettPresident
  • Sabina KauserVice President
  • Samantha IngramDeputy Vice President

The newly elected Officers will be formally appointed at the Annual General Meeting, to be held on:

The Annual General Meeting will also include the election of members to Birmingham Law Society Council for the forthcoming term.

Guy Barnett, President-Elect, said:

“It is a tremendous honour to have been elected by Council to serve as President of Birmingham Law Society. I am grateful for the confidence that my colleagues have placed in me and I look forward to working alongside Sabina Kauser, Samantha Ingram, our Council, Board, committees, staff and members to continue strengthening and promoting the legal profession across Birmingham and the wider region.

Birmingham Law Society has a proud history of championing the profession, supporting its members and engaging with the wider community. Over the coming year I hope to build on that legacy by encouraging collaboration, developing future legal talent and ensuring the Society continues to be a strong and influential voice for our profession.”

The incoming Officers will assume office immediately following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 24 September 2026, succeeding the current presidential team.
