Words Unspoken is an album sparked by passion and sorrow. Reis tragically lost his older brother Jason when he was 17. Distraught and feeling torn apart, the outcome was a drive and determination to pull off what some may call a miracle. Within two years of laying hands on a piano Reis achieved his ABRSM Grade 6 piano and then went on to university performing pieces of great magnitude such as Chopin’s Tristesse and Fantasie Impromptu and Rachmaninoff’s G Minor Prelude Op.23 no.5. Reis’ final recital ended with him performing Liszt’s La Campanella, followed by Einaudi’s Oltremare – A bold statement as if to say ‘I have not forgotten the roots. I remember where it all started’.
‘Words Unspoken’ plays out on a spectrum of vast emotion and colour. Drawing Inspiration from the iconic sound of Ludovico Einaudi and influenced by the greats such as Chopin, Debussy and Satie. Reis created his own unique voice portraying thoughts and feelings played over a grand scale of black and white keys. The intent of the album is to share a story that will captivate the listeners’ thoughts and mind. It’s time to let the world know, Reis Taylor Dixon is ready to share his story.
Wednesday the 24th February 7pm @ Birmingham Symphony Hall Foyer. Performance also includes a live Q&A session with Reis Taylor Dixon.
