Job Title:        Senior Administrator

Holiday:          25 days

Hours:            9.00am – 5.00pm with flexibility when required for meetings and events

Pay:                23-25K depending on experience


Summary: We are looking for an organised and pro-active individual to manage the day to day running of the Membership Administration, Marketing and Social media channels. In addition, this role involves the management of the Business and Administration Apprentice (once in place) to support this function.

Reporting to: Director of Operations



  • Dealing membership enquiries – logging all enquiries and actively chasing up enquiries;
  • Completing new membership enquiry forms and to pass to Council for approval;
  • Confirming Membership applications once approved by Council;
  • Raising membership invoices;
  • Managing the Membership audit once a year to companies and individuals;
  • Keep membership records up to date;
  • Managing Membership renewals and invoicing;
  • Updating membership details on the website;
  • Producing and distributing Membership mailings;
  • Assisting with producing the AGM notice and papers;
  • Producing annual report to be distributed with AGM papers;
  • Managing mailing lists;
  • Attending membership committee meetings;
  • Managing non-member database;
  • Assisting the Consultation Committee with Consultation paper responses and making sure all responses are received and sent in line with the current procedure;
  • Overseeing Membership related events or events delegated by Training and Events Executive or Director of Operations;
  • Regularly obtain and analyse feedback from events, and the membership to improve the service that BLS provides;


Marketing and Social Media:  

  • Drafting all marketing templates with support from the Training and Events Executive;
  • Adding events to the database and to the website;
  • Assisting with the production of the Society’s magazine the Bulletin (6 Issues a year) including attending quarterly meetings (4 meetings a year);
  • Putting the bulletin onto the website and sending it to the Membership;
  • Keeping the website up to date;
  • Draft and post content on our social media channels with assistance from the Director of Operations and Training and Events Executive;
  • Monitor the social media for the society on a day-to-day basis;
  • Manage the BLS social media strategy, adding and reviewing when required with support from Director of Operations;
  • Conduct a monthly report of engagement and followers, and distribute this for monthly board meetings;
  • Engage with members and sponsors, checking their social media pages and sharing when appropriate;
  • Managing the BLS PR Database, liaising with the PR agency and sending to members for reactive comment and posting responses on social media;
  • Assisting with presidential media campaigns and posting on social media.

General Responsibilities as an employee of BLS:

  • To promote and support all BLS’ activities and benefits of membership;
  • Attending all BLS events;
  • Assist the Director of Operations in the overall running of the office and relevant activities to support the team;
  • To undertake any additional duties as may be required by the Board/Officers;
  • Covering the work of other members of the team during holiday periods.

Experience of the following systems is essential:

  • Word press;
  • CRM;
  • Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms;
  • Canva or similar;
  • Social Media platforms including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram;
  • Mail chimp Mailing system or similar;
  • Microsoft Teams;
  • Zoom.

Not essential but desirable:

  • Hootsuite
