Legal Awards 2017 – Entries NOW OPEN!

Birmingham Law Society has launched its annual search for the West Midlands’ top legal talent. 

Are you worthy of an award or do you know someone deserving of recognition for their work over the past 12 months? Have you worked on a landmark case or committed your time to pro bono or charitable causes? If so, we want to hear from you. 

Entries are now open, with firms and individuals invited to submit nominations in one of the 12 award categories (see overleaf for further details).

The nominations will be judged by an experienced panel of judges, comprising leading figures from law, business and academia, with the winners announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday 9th March 2017 at The ICC.

To submit a nomination just follow these three easy steps.

How to nominate:

Step 1:

-Please put forward just ONE name of an individual or practice in each of the categories overleaf. Only firms and individuals practicing in the West Midlands are eligble to enter. 

-Nominations in the Law Firm of the Year categories should be based on the total number of partners in the firm/organisation.

-Consider the reputation, experience, acumen, professionalism, commitment to clients and others with whom both individuals or firms work, including involvement in the community, leadership and energy.

-Please complete legibly and include your name/organisation.

-Copies of this form can be downloaded here. Photocopied nomination forms will be accepted. To enter online go to th online form here.

-Nomination forms must be returned to Birmingham Law Society by Friday 25th November 2016.

Step 2:

-Once all entries have been received, nominees will be contacted and asked to supply further detailed information to support their nomination. 

Step 3: 

-Short-listed nominees will be required to attend an interview with the judging panel. Finalists will be notified of the date in due course.

Once all entries have been received, nominees will be contacted in December 2016 to supply further detailed information to support their nomination with the closing date in Januray 2017. The Shortlist will be annonced on or around the 1st February 2017 by email. 

Short-listed nominees in the individual categories and firm categories will be required to attend an interview with the judging panel on either the 13,14 or 15th February 2017.
