The finalists in this year’s Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards have been revealed.

Amongst the shortlisted hopefuls are law firms Mills & Reeve, Eversheds, Veale Wasbrough Vizards, Gateley Plc and Pinsent Masons, who will be going head-to-head in the Law Firm of the Year (16 partners plus) category.

In the five to 15 partners group, the finalists include Jonas Roy Bloom, The Community Law Partnership, Thursfields Legal Limited, Sydney Mitchell and Quality Solicitors Davisons, while in the sole practitioner to four partners category ASR Legal Services, Neil Davies & Partners, Averta Employment Lawyers, Greens Solicitors Limited and Fountain Solicitors will be hoping to take home the spoils.

This year’s Barrister of the Year will be fiercely contested, with six shortlisted finalists including Leisha Bond, Edward Pepperall QC and Tariq Sadiq from St Philips Barristers, Gemma Bowes and Jason Hadden from St Ives Chambers, and Sarah Clover from Kings Chambers.

In total, 61 finalists drawn from 235 entries have been shortlisted across 12 award categories. In addition to the Law Firm of the Year and Barrister of the Year awards, they include Trainee Solicitor of the Year, Assistant/Associate of the Year, Chartered Legal Executive of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility/Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year, Corporate Team of the Year, In-House Legal Team of the Year, Paralegal of the Year, and Partner of the Year.

The winners will be revealed at the Legal Awards dinner on the 9th March at the ICC in Birmingham.
